Multitasking is overrated
Years back I went into recruitment meetings – either as the employer or the wannabe employee – and either bragged or asked about multitasking. Proud of my ability to multitask, I was looking for the same in others and only lately considered (thank you, Seth Godin) that multitasking is quite detrimental to the quality of our work. Daily, we choose to either do one thing well or do several somewhat ok-ish.
In a world that is constantly topping our to do list, stop, breathe and prioritise. One. Thing. At. A. Time. Multitasking was never what it was pegged for to be anyway.
